Delray Beach

A walkable coastal city in sunny South Florida

Welcome to Delray Beach

Delray Beach is situated on the east coast of Florida, with incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean and miles of pristine beaches. Nestled between Boca Raton and Boynton Beach, this tropical paradise is in a great location and offers residents big-city amenities with a small-town vibe. The east side of Atlantic Avenue has a vibrant nightlife and, during the day, is an urban oasis with many boutiques and restaurants.

Delray Beach has historically been a creative hub for burgeoning artists and has continued to attract a hip crowd over the years. Having started as a humble farming village, the city as we know it today became official in the late 1920s and attracted many creatives who went south for the winter. The vacationing writers and actors contributed to the architectural landscape by commissioning many spectacular Art Deco and Mediterranean Revival homes. This picturesque city continues to attract those who appreciate the finer things in life with gorgeous real estate and water views.

What to Love

  • White-sand beaches and azure waters
  • Gourmet restaurants and high-end shopping
  • Many community events and activities

Local Lifestyle

Delray Beach and its residents continue to support a spirited artistic community through fairs and galleries, carrying on the communities legacy as a creative haven. While most locals support the art community in one way or another, those not artistically inclined can spend their time at the immaculate beaches that line the city's east side. When you aren't taking in the city’s natural splendors, Delray Beach has several shopping centers and eateries you can explore. The city has stunning architecture and real estate, with well-maintained and expertly designed public spaces.

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

Delray Beach has abundant activities and dining options, allowing residents to explore their city in new ways every week. Atlantic Avenue has everything you could need in terms of shopping and entertainment. Residents lovingly refer to this hotspot as The Ave, and with towering palm trees that line your path to the beach, you can spend hours here walking, shopping, and working up an appetite. If you are craving premier Italian cuisine served in a stylish setting, Elisabetta's Ristorante is located on Atlantic Avenue and has a traditional menu and an extensive list of wines to pair with your meal. With an interior that combines vintage and modern elements, this restaurant will delight the senses in more than one way.

Located in The Ray Hotel, Rosewater Rooftop is a restaurant and bar with panoramic views of the city and the Atlantic Ocean. If you want to dine a little closer to the water, try Sandbar, a casual eatery that serves delicious mixed drinks and frozen cocktails. This spot, located directly across from the water, has a coastal atmosphere where you can relax, catch some sun, and drink by the beach.

Serving some of the best steaks in town, SALT7 uses seven different kinds of salt to prepare and season the steak. You won’t want to miss their weekend brunch with bottomless mimosas and their mouthwatering menu of classic breakfast items with a twist. They are a social lounge as well and host many events and holiday parties. Another venue that hosts numerous events throughout the year is The Falcon. The restaurant throws celebrations for New Year, Halloween, and Christmas, with drinks and enthusiasm in spades.

Things to Do

Delray Beach has been named for the sandy shores that line the coast and beckon to those looking to spend time on the water or lounge by the lapping waves. With multiple beach access points, you can find an entrance to start a paddleboarding adventure or begin hunting for seashells. Delray Beach also supports events like the Delray Affair, which has been a yearly occurrence for the past 60 years. This arts and crafts show is one of the largest in South Florida and takes place each April.

Delray Beach brings the community together by hosting events throughout the year. During the winter holidays, the city lights a 100-foot Christmas tree that illuminates the area. The tree lighting starts with a holiday street fair where you can support local vendors and get in the holiday spirit. For over 50 years, Delray Beach has thrown a Fourth of July celebration, where in recent years, they have had food-eating contests, live music, and fireworks.
